Wineries

Shamrock Vineyard - Shamrock Vineyard was the first successful wine-grape planting in Central Ohio. In 1971, the first vines were planted in the midst of grain fields next to a small farmhouse, just outside of Waldo, Ohio. To date, more than 25 varieties have been planted and the most winter-hardy have survived. French-American hybrids, labrusca, and some vinifera make up the acreage which are crafted and tended into Chateau Shamrock wines.

Slate Run Vineyard – Slate Run Vineyard is a small farm winery that was opened in 1997 by Keith and Leslie Pritchard. Keith, an avid amateur winemaker since 1981, started planting grapes in 1985 to support his experimental winemaking pursuits. Quickly realizing that he planted too many grapes, Keith started selling them to other amateur winemakers and small wineries.
